'The Interview' could be released on YouTube in historic content deal

The Interview, the Seth Rogen comedy that caused an international incident and changed the nature of censorship in America, will now most likely be released to a wide audience in the coming days. Even though the nation’s large cinema chains canceled the spoof’s Christmas Day release, a small group of independent theaters are going ahead and showing the film. And now Google’s YouTube might screen the film. CNN is reporting that Sony tentatively reached an agreement with YouTube to distribute the film starting Thursday, according to sources close to the matter. “The YouTube deal is not likely to be exclusive. Sony has been talking with other potential partners as well,” CNN reports. “An earlier plan to rent The Interview through Apple's iTunes store broke down, according to two of the source
