2009 College Football Season Top 25
In the WAY too early College Football Top 25 there are few surprises, but at least Thom Brennaman is happy.
ESPN has posted a Spring edition of the FBS College Football Top 25 Rankings.  The Florida Gators are of course #1, while the state of Utah still manages to get very little love.

The Big 12 and SEC each have five teams in the Top 25. Four ACC teams among the Top 25 could be a sign that conference is coming back, and the Pac-10 and Big 12 each have three teams in the Top 25.

Completely premature, but what are your thoughts?

The top 3 will be fun to watch - it is nice to see seniors coming back for one more go of it.

How does ND which has done zippo in the last 10 years get into the top 25?

It is very premature, but they do keep recruiting well.  As the last few years have shown, parity has a greater role in college football, and even the regular season rankings mean very little.  I'll believe Notre Dame is back in some form when I see it though.

I agree.  I think the Sooners will take it, they seem pretty stacked with all of the guys coming back.  Of course I will be following my Trojans in the intriguing Pac-10, but I can't wait for the season to start.

yeah - there is something about college football on a saturday knowing that I can wake up, turn on the tv, and there is a goldmine to be found. Wonderful time of the year.

It's hard to argue with the list.  I thought Mississippi was really good at the end of last year, so I could see them in the Top 10.  It's 50/50 that Notre Dame returns to the Hawaii Bowl.

Did you go to USC? I didn't but I always root for them to kick East Coast Bias in the balls. Also, who's their QB supposed to be this year?

Tis a wonderful feeling of course. From 9 AM through the end of the day, college football on all Saturday.  Can't really lose there, unless of course you are a Notre Dame fan :)

Supposed to go there, but got more scholarship $$ elsewhere, probably go there to earn a Master's Degree in a few years though.  Just always been a fan since I was a small lad, and gotta love the fact that they tend to kick the East Coast Bias (sad that's recognized as a proper noun) in the balls as you mentioned.

I think Aaron Corp will be their QB this year, and with McKnight healthy and Damian Williams to throw to, Corp should be just fine.  If he goes down at any point of the season, it would be good to see if douchey Mustain has anything worth giving, otherwise Matt Barkley will get thrown into the fire (he's a bit too green at this point).  The Trojans had a lot of turnover in to the NFL, but I like the young guns they have in there.  They have got some massive young lineman from a few high schools in the Central Valley to mix in with the few holdovers from last season, so they should be fully reloaded.

Still searching for an identity under Rich-Rod...Just find solace in the fact that Greg Paulus chose Syracuse :)

I also can not believe ND nd BYU were in the top 25. Top 50 maybe. I was wondering if  SI saw any of their games last year. Did you see the comment  'they will have to win at least 9 games to show the coach is back in it ' .  Seriously the possability of wining 9 games puts them in top 25 . Idont think so.

I'm glad to see that Va Tech is ranked 5th in the poll.  I think that Tyrod Taylor is building on his passing skills while the young wide recievers still need a little tweaking.  Frank Beamer is just the coach to pull this together.  I'm a fan for life, no matter what.

very surprised by this poll.  Mississippi #7, LSU #12 (after more than 4 losses last year?  And the biggest surprise is Notre Dame!!!!  WTF?!?!?
