I must have missed preseason, the all-star race is my favorite event in the circuit. I got $50 on Alaskan Sam, he's got the son of the dog that starred on White Fang.

I've always been a Martin Buser fan. I helped him make the dog bootys for him one year. I just hope it's an Alaskan that wins. Gotta root for the home team... player.....musher.... whatever, you know what I mean.

I've honestly have never actually watched any of the actual race,  I've seen movies like 8 below(with my daughter) any who, it is very amazing how the dog's work together to accomplish a feat that human beings could not do, I mean picture if you tied however many humans to a sled and say pull, it's not going to happen and most likely people would end up heading to the E.R...

Well you can't exactly watch it. The race is over 1,000 miles long through remote areas of Alaska in winter. So footage is scarce. Usually it's limited to rest points along the trail (towns) or the occasional brave cameraman posted up on the trail. I've heard of a few mushers using GPS units, but most of them see it as a disadvantage, so don't use it. Reminds me of one year a musher was clocked at 80 mph going the wrong direction. No one could figure it out until his GPS was located on an airplane. The guy just felt like screwing with people.

So anyways, you can't exactly watch the race, but you can go to www.iditarod.com and track the mushers in/out times along the trail. I'm sure they'll have some footage there for you. I just saw the start of it in Anchorage last week. It's usually over faster than you'd believe, so check it out soon.

Horrah here we go. This is actually one of my favorite events. I just can't help pulling for these guy's and there dogs. Its a hard, cruel, Grueling race that really teaches you about who you are. It tests your limits and your mind. 1000 miles in some times freezing weather with you and your dogs. Dangerous to the core. *shakes head* It's hard not to respect these teams.

I loved going up to Duluth, Minnesota as a child, eating a great breakfast at Grandma's then heading out to watch the start of the sled dog races they had up there. The dogs are incredible. They are the smartest, most tenacious and determined dogs. Some people say it cruelty, but you can tell which dogs want to do it and which don't. It would be hard to keep them calm before the race started because they just wanted to go out and run. I hand it to these teams. It is not ideal conditions out there. As long as they care taking proper care of themselves and their animals, good luck and best wishes!

Do I think a person can win against a dog, can I just plead the Fifth, cause any answer I give is going to be a never ending battle of GOOD and EVIL, also depending on the situation and circumstance. With that said my work here is done. Very good question indeed, but I honestally cannot and will not answer that question to satisfy you. Yes and No, No and Yes,mmmmmmmm I think I'll keep that little secret. I too look forward to any updates on this race......
