49ers say they are not interested in Michael Vick
Some people thought the 49ers would be a good team for Michael Vick to join. Uh, no, says GM Scot McCloughan.
There's been a lot of talk that the San Francisco 49ers would be a good fit for Michael Vick, given head coach Mike Singletary's high moral character and the fact that there are a lot of former Atlanta assistants now working for the team. Singletary had even left the door open for Vick as early as last week.

However, General Manager Scot McCloughan today stated very clearly that the 49ers would not bring Vick in.

As a Falcons fan, I laugh at this....As an everyday person, i laugh at this and say "good you don't deserve a job". But as a sports fan i say... cmon their has to be some team that could use a person that can run and throw half way decent...but since the Dolphins  already said they have no interest...im losing hope on Vick....

Then again Al Davis and Jerry Jones are still GMing........so there is always hope Vick :D

Oh he'll play again. He's too talented not to. Besides, if Pacman got 17 chances, you know Vick will get at least one more.

A very sad fact when it comes to Pacman, but that is a very true statement... and hey if that doesn't happen, their is always the CFL and UFL, just ask VY about it!

The Niners are a character first team. They've been that way since Nolan cut Jamie Winborn. No way Samurai Mike is gonna take Vick.

Samurai Mike was supposedly the most open of anyone to taking him. Either way, probably good they aren't going to sign him.

Yeah and if the niners go 6-10 this year (or worse) then he'll have lost his job and salary for the forseeable future. If Vick did come in and win games, he might keep his job longer.

Yeah, they'll go with that awesome combo of Shaun Hill and Alex Smith, backed up by that stud Damon Huard. No way Vick could have helped this team, smart move niners!

BluDevil have to agree with u on this, but having Vick in the line up would have given San Fran Some of its former glory, with more weapons to run the game on their own terms
