SALT LAKE CITY: Utah Jazz continued to miss out on the nail-biters as visiting Denver Nuggets held their nerves remarkably to record their third consecutive victory by defeating the hosts by 102-101 in an NBA encounter here Thursday night.

The game went to the wire where a last try by Utah fetched them three points but they still fell one short of Denver who were enjoying four points lead with just about five seconds in the final whistle.


The match started with great pace with Denver taking the first quarter 30-23, leaving Utah with plenty of worries to cater.


However, Jazz came with an aggressive game plan and drew the second quarter 28-28 as both teams went into the half time at 58-51.


Utah Jazz took their second quarter momentum into the next one and took nine points lead over Denver Nuggets in the third quarter with match swinging balance towards the hosts at 76-74.


In a crunch last 10 minutes game, Denver Nuggets held their nerves and took four points lead with five second of play remaining. Jazz tried their best to snap their losing streak but even a three pointer failed to do the job as they fell just one short of the visitors.
