A look at potential NFL trades before the trade deadline
Brady Quinn traded for Vince Young? Terrell Owens to the Bears? A look at NFL trades that make a lot of sense.
The NFL trade deadline is approaching (it's October 20th) and there are a lot of trade rumors trolling around out there. Heck, Brady Quinn's house is for sale, so maybe he knows something that we don't. It could be a real active trade this year.

But, more to the point, SI's John Lopez looks at some NFL trades that make sense. So let's take a quick look at his proposals.

Bills WR Terrell Owens to the Bears for a second-round draft pick

This makes a ton of sense to me. Bears need a receiver and the Bills, well, they suck. They need some draft picks.

Browns QB Brady Quinn for Titans QB Vince Young

How about trading JaMarcus Russell for Jabba the Hut?  That would give some celebrity appeal to the Raiders, and no one would even notice the difference in QB performance or appearance.

I don't think it would be smart for the Bears to trade a #2 for TO, that would mean that they wouldn't have a pick on the first day of the draft because they gave their #1 to Denver as part of the Cutler deal and you usually always get good value for a 2nd round pick.

I don't see how the VY-Brady Quinn trade helps either team.... I've never been a fan of trading my garbage for your garbage.

I think Vince Young would fit perfectly in Miami.

The Owens to Chicago for a 2nd round pick works for me.  The Bears don't have too many high picks anyway, so why not give the last one away.

i can't see Owens going to the Bears....that team would fall apart with 2 Pre-Madonnas on their team...referring to Cutler and Owens

what the hell are they smoking ? chicago does NOT want t.o. get a grip they just got rid of a few draft picks to get jay cutler. and then you have vince young to cleveland fof brady quinn ? why would you ever wish that on vince ? let the domer quinn stay right where he belongs with a loser.

That trade makes TOO MUCH sense for it to happen.

a perfect fit except miami has 3 very decent q.b.'s , pat white is a wildcat player so it would be hard to fit him in, it would be worth it though.

Exactly...sorry I blacked out and forgot Al Davis still owned the team.  Or maybe I just repressed that memory since it is so painful...who knows.

I agree with you Kaleb 100%!! Why would you trade a #2 to get T.O.? That trade's got disaster written all over it. T.O. is a locker room cancer, and is famous for throwing QB's under the bus. If that happens, it'll be a bad move by the Bears. And why would you trade Quinn for VY? Again. Disaster in waiting. Quinn STILL hasnt proven yet in Cleveland, and VY's got mental issues, and cant ran an offence worth jack. I'm sorry I'm not buying these two trades at all!

The Bears would be stupid to give up a pick for T.O. (Totally Overated) I agree with Alan-Vince Young in Miami with the Wildcat would be a great fit.

They already have Pat White, who is BETTER than Vince 'I don't want to play anymore' Young

Ravens DT Brandon McKinney and a late-round draft pick for Texans DB Dunta Robinson

we already have 2 Dunta Robinson's and no passrush, so I'll pass. The "pay me rick" crap wouldn't fly here either

Wait... Somebody else wants Vince Young?.. What?..

Derrick Johnson for Limas Sweed?  A soft Longhorn for another soft Longhorn?  I do think Johnson in Pittsburgh makes sense, it might make him the LB that the Cheifs thought they were getting in the draft.

I personally do not approve of T.O., we already have what it takes to be the SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS, but there has to be something that the Bears managements sees that can benefit our team. ANYONE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF LOVIE SMITH IS GUARANTEED TO BECOMING OUT A WINNER!!! If the BEARS decide to go after him or not to go after him....I WILL ALWAYS BE A BEARS FAN!!! I WILL LOVE THEM AND BACK THEM UP REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY DECIDE TO DO!!! AND I WILL ALWAYS KNOW THAT WE ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER!!!! GO BEARS!!!

The only way that would make sense is if Woodley would slide into the DE void left by Aaron Smith. Not to mention Johnson is injured. Tomlin isn't a knee jerk reaction kind of guy and won't quit on a high draft pick this early.

Tennessee would be stupid to trade for Quinn and not look in a QB heavy draft.

I really think Oakland is going to do something crazy. I don't what, but i just do.

I've heard a lot of Michael Vick rumors...Carolina in particular...makes sense for Philly...get something for someone who is just riding the pine. The Wildcat is a waste of time for Philly. They do not need to change the offense, upset the flow...Miami uses it as part of their offense.

Sweed...wouldn't miss him, but I remember another WR who early on in his career was called Plexiglass...and he turned out to be a pretty damn good WR, minus that whole gun safety thing.

I like Owens going to the Bears. I think Vince should go to the Texans..

Quinn hasn't had a chance to become an NFL quarterback yet, he's only started six games and with their offensive line he doesn't stand a chance. Peyton Manning would be terrible in Cleveland.  Vince Young can move around, run for his life, which is what Cleveland needs at QB right now.  I think it would be a good move.

Ravens DT Brandon McKinney and a late-round draft pick for Texans DB Dunta Robinson and Browns QB Brady Quinn for Titans QB Vince Young not only do they make sense they have a chance of actually happening, however the Texans are almost sure to want more in trade for a top 5-10 CB, the Vince Young to Miami makes a kind of sense but though he's bigger than Pat White do we know that's he's better?  Quinn and Collins have similar physical skill sets, however his learning curve has been like the gentle swales of the great plains-Brady's Learning Curve

Has T.O. ever made any team better than it was before he arrived?  But he decimates the receiving corps of the team he's on and it takes two or three seasons for that team to recover from a T.O. hangover

How about when the Eagles went to the superbowl and couldn't get over the hump the like 5 previous times before he arrived.

I've got one: How about completing the dismantling of the Buccaneers by sending Ronde Barber to the Bears to play in a system he has thrived in with a coaching staff that is very familiar with him for say conditional 3rd/4th round pick....the Bears could use an impact player in their secondary to go deep in the playoffs
