Agreement to sell the Texas Rangers in place
1/23/10 in MLB
It took 8 days longer than the expiration of the "exclusive negotiating window", but an agreement has reportedly been reached for more than $500 million that will allow Hall of Famer, Nolan Ryan and others, headed by Chuck Greenberg, to purchase the Texas Rangers.
The current owners, the Hicks Sports Group, also owners of the Dallas Stars, defaulted on several loans and the team was put up for sale to alleviate the debt.
Next up? MLB has to approve.
