Andre Dawson elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame

After almost an entire decade of coming up short, Andre Dawson has been elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. I'm not exactly sure what he did between the last few years and this year that put him over the edge, but he'll be inducted in Cooperstown on July 25, after receiving 420 votes this time.

Bert Blyleven came up only 5 votes short, and first-timer Roberto Alomar was 8 votes short, making it the first time in history that two players have missed it by 10 or less votes on the same ballot. Don't be surprised to see both of them enshrined next year.
