Andy Reid's son Garrett Reid has been sent back to prison
Andy Reid begins yet another push for father of the year as his oldest son is sent back to prison
Andy Reid is having another bang-up year as a parent. His oldest son Garrett, who was in a halfway house to complete a prison sentence, got into fight there and is now back in prison.

Garrett, you may remember, was sentenced to two years in a state drug rehabilitation program in July after being caught with 89 prescription pills inside his rectum at the Montgomery County Prison. He was in the county prison on charges related to a January 2007 car crash that seriously injured a woman.

There comes a point when a man has to stand up on his own and you quit blaming the parents for his problems.  His son is 26 years old.  Time to stop berating Reid for his son's mistakes.  It is sad to see the young man go down in flames like this, but think about it, if he wasn't Andy Reid's son, would anyone outside his closest friends and family even care about this?

I agree about there comes a time when you have to stop berating him...but you have to wonder what has caused the kid to be this way. Maybe if his dad had been home when he was younger he wouldn't be lashing out like this. Or the kid might just have other issues. It is hard to say.

I agree with you.  Sometimes you got to take care of home.  He is grown now, but it looks like a cry for help and maybe his father wasn't there for him as he was growing up.  Football isn't everything.  He should take a page from tony Dungy.

You know as a father, as a parent.. you spend all of your heart and time giving a child the tools they need to function and be productive in life. It is the child that makes the choices of  what to to do with those tools and what directions to take. Believe me I know. My oldest is now an adult and is in state prison. I still love him, but am upset with his choices.

You can speculate all day long about why Reid's son finds himself in a such bad situation, but the simple fact is that some people are just prone to screwing up.  Some parents are home with their kids all the time, giving them plenty of love and support, and they still end up in prison.  It is scary, but there is no bulletproof guide to raising great kids.

It's hard to argue that it's more likely that someone from a stable home, with the means for a good education, and great opportunities would end up in such a mess, but we don't know that Andy hasn't given him enough support to be successful in life.  Perhaps he is intimidated by living under his father's shadow.  My guess is that he is just a selfish a-hole, and he's dragging his father's name along for the ride.

That's the truth.  Grow the F up at 26 I'm sure by then he knows what's right and wrong ESPECIALLY if he was already sent to prison once.  They really need to abandon him let him hit rock bottom and then come back when he's ready.
