American Andy Roddick will lose to play Roger Federer in the Wimbledon Final for the 3rd time in 6 years, after beating Andy Murray 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 in their semifinal match.
Anyone else still watching the match? Oh that's right, NBC and ESPN have combined for the wost coverage ever. Especially when an American has won a Semi. I realize that Federer is the main attraction, but come on.
Whats up with Roddick lately? He's actually kind of living up to his potential.
He apparently rededicated himself this offseason, and it's paying off with a semis at the Aussie, a career best 4th round at the French, and now this. Given Fed's dominance, I'm not sure that Roddick's alleged "disappointment" cost him anymore than 1 or 2 majors. The window was 3-4 years tops.
OK Andy, this is your shot at moving into a higher slot in US Men's tennis history...an American player winning Wimbeldon in England, on the Forth of July weekend...Good Luck.! Yankee Doodle Dandy.!!
Andy's chances are slim. He has to have a first serve percentage over 60% or so, plus have a nasty second serve. His second serve has gotten pretty damn good lately. This is his ace up the sleeve. Federer knows how to deal with big servers. Andy is going to need to nail big, wider serves and then charge the net. High kick serves to prevent those one stroke rallies that RF is known for. He has to play high risk tennis to have any chance. Of course, this may just be wasted typing because RF is simply on fire.
