An 8-year contract in the $180 million range was too much for the Red Sox, and now it appears that it's too much for the Angels as well. At this point, about the only team left that could scoop up Teixeira is the Yankees, but you'd have to assume they won't go that high. Although who knows, the Yankees might off him $200 million. Why? Because the Yankees are idiots.

Hopefully, not. The Cubs are potentially stuck with a ton of contracts that are heavy on the back end. If they don't focus on improving the minor league system instead, they'll be horrible in years like 2012 and 2013.
