It's tough to figure out what Bob LeGere of the Daily Herald is thinking, but it seems he has finally moved on from stoking the flames of the ridiculous Cutler vs. Orton debate in Chicago (at least for a moment). The fact that some people even think there should be a controversy is funny.
Now LeGere has decided that Devin Hester has as he puts it "arrived." LeGere points out that Hester has 21 catches over the last 3 games, placing him only behind Larry Fitzgerald during that span. Devin has really improved as a receiver, but there is no way in the world you can call him a true #1. His limitations are still front-and-center every Sunday.
Just because the Bears have no #1 wide-out, LeGere is ready to thrust Devin Hester into that role. It's premature. His route-running is average at best and it's still not clear that he knows the entire playbook. What are your standards for a true #1 wide-receiver, and does Devin Hester fit the bill? I can't believe it.
