Big Ten discusses adding Texas

In one of the more ridiculous things I've heard in a long time, the Big Ten is reaching out to Texas in an attempt to convince them to join the conference as their twelfth team. Other than the obvious geographical issues, I understand why the Big Ten would want Texas. But why would they ever thing that Texas might be interested in what would basically be a downgrade from the Big 12?

The Big 12 is already one of the top 2-3 conferences in the country, and the Big Ten is lagging behind. Texas could shift that momentum, but why would they want to? It would add some cold weather games that they have no interest in, and force them to maintain their rivalry with Oklahoma as a non-conference game.

The whole idea is absurd, and I honestly can't think of a single reason Texas would want to join the Big Ten. Can you?
