Bode Miller was a major disappointment in 2006 - when he famously had a beer the night before a major race and seemed generally to not give a s*** about his Olympic performance - but he's off to a better start in Vancouver.

Miller took an early lead in the men's downhill today and managed to hang on for a bronze medal. Miller was ultimately beaten by only hundredths of a second by Switzerland's Didier Defago and Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out why I can't watch this event for another eight hours even though I live in the same time zone as where the event took place. You suck NBC.
