Boston Celtics targeting Rasheed Wallace and Grant Hill in free agency
Celtics continue to pursue Rasheed Wallace and Grant Hill, trying to reunite the 2001 NBA All Star team.
The Boston Celtics apparently want to be the oldest team in the league next season, as they continue to pursue Rasheed Wallace and Grant Hill.

The Celtics are targeting Wallace with the midlevel exception and sources say the team also is willing to drop some coin on Hill. Boston is willing to pay a steep luxury tax, according to sources.

I'm just wondering if this is the right move. This would be one old team if you added Hill and Wallace. They might have one - max two - years left to win it all.

I actually like the Rasheed idea... but Grant Hill? Seriously?

They already have only one (mayyyyybe 2) years left in their championship window... or maybe less if Danny Ainge keeps trying to get cute. Either way, spending any kind of money on Grant Hill is pure insanity.

I'm sure Ainge will just make Hill the point guard after he trades Rondo.

Inclined to agree with you on this one Pat. Grant Hill has a tendency to become injured and not return. Rasheed, old but still has some miles lefton him.  If they do get 'Sheed and Grant, Grant will have to get some of his old playing form back and I don't think Starbury will stay too long afterwards.....

Just playing "Devil's Advocate" for a second. If they don't make the bonehead move of the millinium and get rid of Rondo, Hill's role would be limited at best barring injury. Rasheed "Mr. Technical" Walace will be so good for so many reasons for the Celts. Whew. We may have to consider a power shift from the Western Conference to the Eastern.

Sheed, I want you on my team so you can help me bring an NBA championship to Cleveland, and for keeping me IN Cleveland.

Phoenix actually has some really good trainers, which is the reason that Hill has so much success here last season. Only problem last year was when he came off the bench he would really play crappy. It was nice to see him here and wanting to contribute, but with his age and mileage on his body, he will most likely suffer and injury in the 1st week of the preseason for any team he signs with.

To all of the people that want Rasheed Wallace........
I hope like never before that stup dupe Joe Dumars don't trade him off and pay him what he wants because I want and I'm sure other folks in Detroit want and feel the need, the need for SHEED to stay right here in the Big D. Joe already screwed up when he traded Billups, so hopefully he'll make another smart move (firing Curry) and keep Sheed.

I gotta disagree with the grant hill rebuffs....money is tight baby*, we gon get him cheap.  He's another body and I like his size.  This is the whole patriots vibe.  Get him in the system,  He PLAys D, worth a shot....and Sheed in C's  green...its not even a question you get that man.  Uh oh...beast inthe eastt*

Grant Hill will be fine, he's had his best season in years this past year in Phx. I hope the suns keep him, but if not some team is going to be happy they have him.
