Braylon Edwards traded from the Cleveland Browns to the New York Jets
Braylon Edwards is headed to the Jets...hopefully he can catch there.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Braylon Edwards is headed to the New York Jets. From Schefter's Twitter account:

"Deal for Braylon Edwards includes Jason Trusnik, the Jets core special teams player and picks - and maybe a WR. Trying to piece together."

If ANY Cleveland player will go to a NY team, I hope its LeBron James to the Knicks!

So, does this mean Braylon is only going to stay for a year?  If LeBron goes to New York next year, Braylon wont be there for long.

Good riddens!!! I first heard this story listening to the local news this morning while cooking breakfast.

I have no problem with a professional athlete being a prima-dona if he produces when he is on the field; but, Edwards couldn't catch a cold standing in the middle of Lake Erie in January. I thought that he would be gone before the season started. Oh well, better late than never.

wow, I had no idea that LeBron James had that kind of power!  When is he going to run for Governor of Ohio?

Depending on what the Jets give, I think its a terrible move. Anything more than a bucket of chinstraps and a set of used knee braces is too much to give for this guy who has proven only that he can get into trouble of the field, and open on the field just to let the fans down and drop the ball. At some point, "potential" and reality need to be realized and if a guy can't stay behaved in Cleveland, going to New York is only going to magnify the problem. Ask Plaxico, it's why the Steelers made no attempt to keep him. Character, especially in the Roger "Call Me Dictator" Goodell era, is just as important as ability.

It's about time... this guy has proven that he's a low-class no talent too.  It's telling that it took Lebron James as a catalyst to get this cancer out of the locker room.

And for the record, Braylon, people didn't rag on you because you came from Michigan - they ragged on you because you couldn't catch a ball to save your life and your mouth couldn't face reality.

If I was on the Browns or Raiders, I would go beat the crap out of all of Lebron's friends so I could get traded too!

Chansi Stuckey?  The Former college QB?  We already have one of those guys who's afraid to go across the middle (Josh Cribbs) Way to go Browns.  Another terrible Mangina move.

Cleveland is only so big for just LeBron James.  That should make him stay.

Braylon showed a little passion last weekend during the Bengals game by coming to the aide of Jerome Harrison on a cheap shot and received a penalty.  The Browns WILL NOT tolerate any player showing heart.  Exit Braylon and Kellen Winslow.  For the love of God, cut Jamal Lewis!

Goodbye and good riddance Braylon Edwards! Let Rex Ryan take care of this cottonpickin' idiot!

Great, now Edwards can drop passes on national TV more often...

does anybody really think this guy is a number 1 receiver?  two draft picks, stuckey, and another player.  the jets payed way to much for an overhyped ball dropper

I love this trade for the Jets.....They get a other key player to this team........Edwards would play a big role to the Jets going to the playoff/SB. Great deal Jets.

I don't think it's a bad move for the Jets.  You've gotten a veteran receiver for your rookie QB at a time when his stock was down.  The Jets have been building a team for quite a few years now, getting a strong O-Line and building a D, before Rex Ryan arrived.  And w/ the moves they made this offseason, plus this.  The Jets upper management wants has put together a team that should compete for years to come.

About time they got rid of him! Goes to show you you don't mess with the LeBron!!!!!I  will say that I was hoping he would have been better when we drafted him,  but what do you really expect when drafting from that team-up-north! Just goes to show you Michigan still SUCKS and can't produce anyone good. As for the Browns once again there goes another high draft pick down the pipe! I love my Browns but someone REALLY, REALLY needs to get the drafts right up there. I love how "yankeeDudeL" say's that the Jets got a veteran receiver, LMAO!!!! THe guy may have been in the NFL for a few years but the guy can't catch a cow thrown in his direction! SO good luck with that one Jets!

Nobody brought this up yet?

The Jets (allegedly) tampered with Crabtree 'cause they wanted a WR. The niners finally get a deal done with Crabtree and then all of a sudden the Jets trade for Edwards? Coincidence?

I really have a dislike for Rex Ryan...Interesting point you bring up. I forgot all about the tampering charge actually.
