Here is a little bit more on Favre Mania. He recently placed a $30,000 deposit on a condominium in Edina, Minnesota.

Is he is getting closer and closer to agreeing to terms with the Minnesota Vikings?

Has there ever been an athlete you're more sick of hearing about?

It'll be another fun season for Favre haters, though. The old man will be miserable in the run-first, AP-led Vikings offense.

run first offense with brett there? that won't happen, but ap will get 20 carries and harvin will see 3-6 passes a game. the o-line in minny is pretty good but when brett gets tired around game 12 the picks will start to pile up just like last year. the vikes should only play him against the bearsx2,packersx2 and then pick 8 other must win games and let the other 2 qb's play the other 4 games

With AP in the backfield in Minny, Brett will have more support than in NY.  He might have a great year.  How would everyone feel about that?

I still don't understand the hate.  Obviously there are NFL minds who think he still has gas in the tank.  Who are we as internet posters to say differently?

Brett is a not a watcher, but a doer.  Why hate him for that?

The only place I've read about Favre lately is on FanIQ.  So if you're here looking for sports info and you find some Favre-related pieces, that's kind of your own fault.  Plus, you not only saw the headline, but you clicked it, read it, and posted a comment on it.

If I was Brett I wouldn't comeback . However , as a fan I want to see him back . I'm a Bears fan and I definetly want to see more Bears D against Brett , no way when we finally start beating him he leaves . Besides , I'd love to see Favre against the Packers , gunna be fun as hell .  I think he will do more bad to the Vikings than good anyways .

Like I have posted before, Favre is looking to get hurt if he doesnt retire. I give it to him, at one time he was the man. But now he is going to take a life changing injury. I predict within the first half of the season he is going out because of injury.     But I would still like to see that, it will be one of those remember when moments, you know like " remember when Favre had his head knocked totally off his body?"     "Yeah that was cool."

Hey, why such Farve haters?? If he can still play, why so negative towards him?  I say he will definitely be a positive for the Vikings, can't wait to see them in action myself.  Of course, I believe in him, and am have been diehard fan of his for a long time, and am from Mississippi myself!!

Why the hat for Favre?  For the past 3 years he's become a complete primadonna during the off season on whether he'll play or not.  You can't turn on ESPN without your daily Favre update.  It's gotten so bad, even his surgeon is talking to the media.

Look, Favre is one of the all time greats.  However, that doesn not give him the right to string Green Bay along the way he did, mess with the Jets, and now pull these stunts with the Vikings.  Green Bay stuck by him through alcoholism, pain killer addictions, and other various distractions.  They also were loyal to him when he began taking all summer to come up with a decision to play or not.  Now all the sudden he wants to play in Minnesota as some sort of vengeance for Ted Thompson and the Packers.  I hate the Packers as much as anyone, but that is some BS.

P.S. - I want him to go to Minny.  The Bears have OWNED Favre in recent years.

Do you even know what "prima donna" means?

Why does averyone think that Favre needs to provide answers on their timetable?  Favre strung Green Bay along?  Favre announced his retirement early enough that GB could draft accordingly.  He honestly didn't know what he was going to do.  If GB drafted as if Favre was going to be around...and then he retired...people would be pissed!  So he did the right thing by having GB move forward as if he wasn't going to be there.  Once he decided he still wanted to play, he simply wanted to be released.  I mean, why not?  GB didn't want him anyways.  Why not let him go?  If Rodgers was better than Favre, why worry about letting him go somewhere else?  GB screwed everything up by refusing to allow him to compete for the starting job.  What other NFL franchise would do something like that???  It's not like Favre refused to play for GB and demanded a trade.  He WANTED to play for GB.  But GB didn't want him anymore.  Both sides have gotten what they wanted, so I don't know why everyone is still crying about it.

Yes, I know what "primadonna" means and for the record, it can be spelled both ways.  So Favre retires early enough so the Packers can go out and draft a QB?  This is true.  However, he then debated a return and a circus act followed.  Every time I turned on Sportscenter I was force fed Brett Favre news. Will he play or not?  When is a decision coming?  This happened again with the Jets and is now happening with the Vikings.  It's gotten so bad we are now getting updates from his surgeon.

You're obviously a Brett Favre and that's fine because he's all all time great at the quarterback position.  But I think a lot of people have lost some respect for him based on his actions in recent offseasons.  Let's not forget the falling out he had with his teammates last year in New York either.  Most GB fans I know that supported him for years can't stand the guy anymore.

Not to mention it was made clear to him that once they secured a new QB, that was it. It's not like he wasn't prewarned of that fact. He got sentimental and wanted to come back but the team had moved on like they told him they would if he retired. If he was that much on the fence, he should have bucked up and played one more year...oh wait...he did that anyways. He then goes on to the Jets and pulls the same exact song and dance. Now here we are going for round three. I could overlook the song and dance going to the Jets. Ok, the guy changed his mind. But he does it again? His mulligan has been used. How long do you really think he is going to play for the Vikings? One year, maybe two then we will be right back where we were with Tavaris and Sage who together could possibly make a semi decent QB.

I wasn't calling out your spelling...for the record.

Let's ge one thing straight.  Favre has never retired.  Period.  He indicated that he was going to.  Twice.  But never retired either time.  It's not like he spent a season away, saw all the attention Rodgers was gettting, and suddenly wanted to come back.  He simply didn't have the answer when GB needed it.  Quite certain none of us would have the answer either.  Keep in mind that at 39 year old, 20+ years of his life have been about football.  Why do you think it should be so easy to walk away from all of that?  For people concerned about image, the biggest mistake would be staying too long and tarnishing a legacy.....letting people see you get old.  For people concerned about living life...which Favre undeniably is ...the biggest mistake would be having regret about what you might have been able to do.  You can't stage a comeback when the doubt starts creeping in at age 50.  Or 60.

I suspect Favre is going to ride until the damn wheels fall off.

Honestly.....would you expect any different from him?

"Secured a new QB" meaning Aaron Rodgers or Brian Brohm?  Or Matt Flynn?  I'm just trying to figure out when Brett was given this ultimatum because I never heard about that.  But in a way, you're making my point for me.  GB didn't want him, so let him go, right?  Why hang on to a guy you don't even want anymore?  Afraid someone else might like him and snatch him up?  Is Grean Bay a jealous school girl now?

They didn't have that line drawn in the sand you are talking about because when he flew back to GB, they met with him and were considering letting him play.  And then they decided to let him play......but only as a backup without being able to compete for the starting job.  GB tried to bully him in retiring being bluffing about keeping him on the bench.  GB had already planned on moving on without him.  So why not do just that?  Brett was fine with being released.  Why not release him?  Brett was even fine with being traded.  He had a preference, but he didn't demand to be traded to a certain team.  It was GB that kept the controversy alive by pretending that they were going to bench him and not release/trade him.

As far as pulling the same old song and dance with the Jets....I think we all know what happened.  NY knew they didn't want Favre back, so they pretended that he was going to retire and the Jets released him.  Favre goes where he wants and the Jets get the QB they want.  It happened exactly the way it should have.  The Jets weren't scared that he was going to sign with a division rival...they just let him go.  GB can learn a lesson there.

Who cares how long he's going to be with the Vikings?  Clearly the Vikings aren't concerned about that and they have more riding on the decision than any of us do.  Let the guy play and stop crying because he doesn't do what you think he should.  If that's how you live your life, you're going to be disappointed a lot.

Well I hope the Vikings pick up Brett Farve.  I was born and raised in Green Bay, WI. and I was unhappy that he left, but the Packers didn't give him much of an option. All he wants to do is play football because he loves the game and has fum playing football. Go Brett Farve!
