Brett Favre needs surgery on his ankle in order to play in 2010
4/30/10 in NFL
The annual waiting game to see whether Brett Favre will return in 2010 got a little bit more complicated on Friday. Favre reported on his website that he needs surgery on his left ankle in order to play for the Minnesota Vikings in 2010. The minor procedure would alleviate the pain, improve the dexterity of the ankle and is recommended by Dr. James Andrew as an operation that is unavoidable should Favre want to continue playing.
Favre is under contract for $13 million dollars in 2010, but only if he plays. Vikings coach Brad Childress and the rest of the team have told Favre repeatedly that they are fine with him taking his time to decide if he wants to play.
