The Phillies wound up extending the World Series last night, but it wasn't all good news in the locker room after the game.
Brett Myers and Cole Hamels got into a confrontation that stemmed from Hamels' statement after Game 3 that he "can't wait for it (the season) to end."
As Myers walked past Hamels near Hamels’ locker he said, mocking, “What are you doing here? I thought you quit.”
Hamels responded by telling Myers to go F himself.
Before the situation escalated, Myers was guided away by a team official.
Apparently Hamels' comments following Game 3 have pissed off more than just Myers. However, Hamels is said to be disturbed by the reaction to what he believed to be an innocuous comment. In the same interview, he repeatedly said he hoped to pitch Game 7 if the series goes that far.
Look, as far as I'm concerned, it's the Phillies who are making too big of a deal about this. Sure, Hamels is tired. But you're crazy if you think he won't try and pitch his butt off if this thing goes to 7. Everyone just calm the F down, and win Game 6 first.
