Cam Newton wins offensive rookie of the year, Von Miller wins defensive rookie of the year
Newton finished his rookie year with4051 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He was the first rookie ever to pass for 4000 yards.
If that weren't enough, he also ran 126 times for 706 yards. That's an average of 5.6 yards per carry, and his 14 rushing touchdowns were good for 2nd in the NFL.
Newton received 47 out of 50 first place votes, and Bengals QB Andy Dalton got the other 3.
On the defensive side, Broncos LB Von Miller took the award.
Miller registered 11 sacks, 51 tackles, and was a cornerstone of a Denver defense that played outstanding in the second half of the season.
