He has played with Spinal Stenosis his whole career, but in the end, the injury in week 5 of the 2009 season was serious enough that Chris Samuels has decided to call it a career.

He played for ten years in the NFL, every one of them with the Washington Redskins after being drafted by them in 2000.

The injury that ended the offensive tackle's career occurred during a game against the Carolina Panthers and it was immediately evident in watching the replay that the injury was a serious one.  Samuels has met with a number of doctors and specialists over the months, always vowing he would return to the game he loves, but it wasn't to be.  The risk has been determined to be too great.

Chris will make the announcementofficial on Thursday, March 4th at noon ET.
