Chuck Pagano returns to coaching Colts
Pagano returns to a Colts team that has just qualified for the playoffs, on which interim coach Bruce Arians has become a potential Coach of the Year, and on which Andrew Luck has just set the NFL rookie passing record. Are people in Indianapolis happy this Christmas? People in Indianapolis are probably happy this Christmas.
Monday morning, coach Chuck Pagano made his return to the Colts. That giant inflatable thingy to the left welcomed him back at the Colts training facility in Indianapolis. "I'm ready to go," Pagano told USA Today. "I feel great. My weight's back. My energy's back."
His hair back to some degree as well. That photo on the left was taken at Pagano's return press conference this morning. He looks great, and not at all like a guy who's been taking chemotherapy treatments for the last three months.
His Colts team looks not at all like a team that was 2-14 last season. The Colts now stand at 10-5, and assured of a Wild Card spot in the playoffs and the No. 5 seed in the AFC.
This is a wonderful story for Christmas, and everything looks great for the Colts organization. But Colts fans, don't plan on being able to hold on to your previously-interim head coach Bruce Arians. Arians' shocking success as interim coach during Pagano's absence assures him several interviews for head coaching positions.
