The UConn football team suffered the loss of a teammate a few weeks ago, and it hasn't gotten any better for them, with 3 straight losses since the passing of Jasper Howard.

It took them 2 overtime periods, but they finally got their win, beating Notre Dame. However, their good news could be terrible news for Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis.

Immediately following the loss, the whispers erupted into a roar, calling for his dismissal. He has been on the hot seat all year, with the elevated expectations that they had in South Bend for this season, and now that they've lost 5 games, it could be the end for Weis.

Notre Dame's schedule this year was considered to be easy enough that the Irish could compete for a BCS Bowl game, and perhaps even a National Championship. However, the reality is that they're barely a bowl team.

Is it time for Charlie Weis to be fired yet? If so, who should his replacement be? Bob Stoops and Urban Meyer are a couple of the more popular names, but would they leave their current programs? We may find out shortly.
