Cristie found herself feeling lightheaded early into the second round, but
after taking on fluids and a bit of food, she rebounded to her stellar form and shot three straight birdies. Cristie has won here before, in 2007, and says she will capitalize on that experience. Although the early holes of the second round were rough, the nutrition helped her regain her strength and rebound on the back nine."It’s great to know that I’ve won one, and I know I can do it on the weekend,’’ said Kerr. “I feel like I know what I have to do, instead of in [2007] you’re kind of like, well, what do I do in this situation? I kind of have a little advantage there.’’
Paula is trying to win her first US Open, after missing two tournaments due to a thumb injury. She says she is strong and working to focus on the game.
"To win a major championship, it’s all about two-putts, and I’ve kind of ingrained that in my mind. Just to grind out pars,’’ she said. “You have to be so into every shot mentally. You’re going to be tired. I’m going to hit some good shots and not be rewarded. But I’m going to hopefully hit some good shots and be rewarded.’’TSN in Canada is covering the third round of the Tournament starting at 1pm ET.
