Dale Earnhardt Jr hasn't ruled out moving his Nationwide team to the Cup Series for next year.
Reading between the lines it seems unlikely, as he seems to be wishing Brad Keselowski success whatever he does and talks more about mentoring another driver through the N'wide series than he does about a move into Cup.
What he has seemed to rule out, however, is a place in the 2009 Chase for the Sprint Cup. At 285 points out of 12th,he has a huge amount of ground to try to make up and that seems insurmountable. Jr., however, seems comfortable with that, hoping only that at the end of the year he can look back on 2009 and say "...The one I want to have is that we fixed it, that we've got something that we can feel good about and work on and get all our stuff ready for next year."
Me? I wouldn't be throwing in the towel just yet, but I'm fine with a Championship in 2010 too.
