Dale Earnhardt Jr hasn't ruled out moving his Nationwide team to the Cup Series for next year. 

Reading between the lines it seems unlikely, as he seems to be wishing Brad Keselowski success whatever he does and talks more about mentoring another driver through the N'wide series than he does about a move into Cup.

What he has seemed to rule out, however, is a place in the 2009 Chase for the Sprint Cup.  At 285 points out of 12th,he has a huge amount of ground to try to make up and that seems insurmountable.  Jr., however, seems comfortable with that, hoping only that at the end of the year he can look back on 2009 and say "...The one I want to have is that we fixed it, that we've got something that we can feel good about and work on and get all our stuff ready for next year."

Me? I wouldn't be throwing in the towel just yet, but I'm fine with a Championship in 2010 too.

I got to give you Jr fans alot of credit for sticking by your guy.  He has yet to show anything the past couple of years to even warrant serious consideration as a guy who can win a championship and yet each year every single Jr fan thinks this will be the year he does it.  For the sake of his fans, himself, his legacy and Nascar as a whole, I hope he does turn things around and becomes a viable contender year in and year out.

 when ur ridin' daddy's shirt tail, 20 mil in endorsements,and every sr. fan loves u, not because of u, but because of daddy. what's ur incentive?. maybe he runs his own team, then he can be his own man. i like the kid, he's in a tough spot, but it's time to get a grip. there was only one dale earnhardt, and junior needs to earn his own legacy.

Hendrick's Motors will not "Let one of it's own" fall by the wayside! Rick will combine efforts of all his teams to bring the struggling team to"Speed" I'm not part of "Jr Nation" But I am a Hendrick's supporter! Jr has shown some improvement in his "Listening ability" I'm pulling for the 88 Team to make the Chase to give Hendrick's Motors better odds at winning another Championship! Daytona is one of Jr's better tracks....I'm predicting at least a "Top Ten" finish for the 88 team!

NO NO NO THat IS not what he said..............he SAID.........mathematically they are still in the hunt......BUT it could be done.........by fininshing  in top 3 (I believe that is the number he used).   The team is 200 some points from the chase, but it wasn't just ONE team between them and the goal but several.   Gee would y'all LISTEN to what he says and not read between the lines.  This information was on NASCAR.com, an interview done by Jr.
