Dale Earnhardt earns $830 for every left turn that he makes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. earns $830 for each left turn he makes. Unlike his father, whose one right turn earned him sainthood.

Despite winning only 1 race last year, Dale Earnhardt Jr was the highest paid driver in NASCAR.

Wait, yes I can.

Dude...I admit I laughed at first, then I reread it, and yep, it is totally tasteless, but still semi funny.
I am thinking a bullet proof vest may be a real good investment in your future!! (not just from us Earnhardt fans, but from the lightning bolts from above!!)

How many did he make yesterday?

As long as Dale Earnhardt Jr continues to bring in millions and millions of dollars in endorsements and sponsors, Rick Hendrick wont care that the guy doesnt win races.

You are right in one respect Scott, but I have also seen Rick kick some to the curb  when they dont perform. I am gonna find an underground bunker if and when that day ever comes!!

I am hoping my boy gets his stuff together..right now I am pretty tired of excuse after excuse. He needs to STFU, and get back to driving, because he is becoming a laughing stock, and its annoying!

thats terrible.  they need to get rid of eury jr and get "pops" back in there.

Perhaps Mr. Hendrick needs to deal with the engine people who were responsible for Mark and Dale Jr's engines yesterday.  I think both were either just in or just outside the top ten when they went south.  Neither Mark or Jr can be blamed for that.

And yes, he should make that kind of money - his name is on EVERYTHING - you think he's gonna endorse that stuff for free? Don't think so - if he did, you'd all be calling him stupid or something.  Man can't win for losin'

That just simply is not going to happen.  Pops didn't want to be a Cup Crew Chief any longer.  He's happy doing what he's doing FOR NOW.  I anticipate he will outright retire soon enough.

"Dale Earnhardt Jr. earns $830 for each left turn he makes. Unlike his father, whose one right turn earned him sainthood."

How rude and insensitve can one person be?  For get apologizing to the fans of either person named, you should apologize to his family. And then your mother should wash your mouth out with soap and sit you in the corner! Jerk!

I wish I could take credit for the title, but it is actually courtesy of a user from Fark.com.

Either way, it's freaking priceless.

I laughed a lot.  I'll admit it.  The farker is wrong though.  Dale, Sr. earned sainthood long before that wreck that killed him.

That's also why his boy is the most popular driver in NASCAR, because of who daddy was.  Nobody wants to come out and say it, but that's why.  If any other driver not-named-Earnhardt went as long as he did without winning, the fans would crush him for it.  If Dale Jr's last name was Trickle, nobody would give a crap about him.

Unless his first name was Dick, as well. Then he'd be the butt of a few jokes.

OMG, so ... you don't like NASCAR or NASCAR fan's.  I get it.  You may feel it's priceless, but the only thing that is priceless is your (and the idiot fark'ers) lack of cuth.

This morning at 0430 when I woke up, the very first thing that went through my head was the crash and wreck that killed Dale. The first thing. Some of us have not forgotten, nor will we.  But none of us need disrespect the dead.

As for the money he makes.  He's the most popular driver. He is the one that most of the fan's come to see race.  He is the one who is packing the tracks every weekend.  I know that there is a certain amount of voodoo involved when one looks at how the drivers are paid for track time. But so what.

No, because there wasn't as big of a hoopla over Adam Petty's death. The media had a field day with Dale Sr., and that is solely because of the fans reaction to it. Their reactions and continued reactions to this day is what is fueling the fire. The statement is pretty bold but isn't it true? I don't understand why people get their panties all bunched over Dale Sr.. Yes, he was a great driver and a positive force in NASCAR but 7 years later don't you think it's time to move on with our lives a bit? If something happened to my favorite driver, i'd be sad but the continued amount of time and energy spent on this topic is a bit much. It's great to remember people and their accomplishments but the fans themselves have put him into a category of sainthood. Even Dale Jr. has said that it's time to let the man rest in peace and even said how creepy he thought it was that people who have never met his father react the way they do sometimes. I'm not saying anyone here, but there are some really hardcore Dale Sr. people out there. There comes a point when you have to be able to laugh about things and not take them so seriously. I think 7 years is more than enough time to be able to make a joke.

As far as Jr. goes, he even has to know he is a decent driver, but not great. He will never win a championship. There is nothing wrong with that though. He gets to race cars, make tons of money and have a great life. He lost his mentor during a critical point in his career. I have no doubt with his Dad's guidance he could have been better, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I think you may have meant to quote fremontguy's comment, but in any case, your point is spot-on.  Also, yes, there is a legion of Dale Sr. fans who are RABID, any many of them contribute to his son being the most popular driver by gravitating to him.

I joke about the headline, but before he went to Hendrick, I quietly rooted for Junior on race day.  We are close in age and both lost our fathers suddenly around the same point in our lives, and though that's pretty much where the similarities end, I know how hard it was for me going through my twenties with that loss, I can't fathom how it must impact a young guy who's the son of one of the most famous drivers in motorsports history.  So though I'm a casual race fan, and usually support Tony Stewart, I would always look out for #8 and hope he did well.

As for Dale Jr. never winning a championship?  I'm not so sure.  I think MarktheShark might have a point.  If he replaces his drinking buddies with a real crew and crew chief, the results could be very positive.

its all about respect for the dead or do you not believe in that

But its ok to disrespect and make fun of the living? What does their death change at all? Respect should be given to people all the time. However, a joke is a joke. I bet Dale Sr. made many in his day as well. Humor can be just as much of a form of flattery as anything else.

Thanks for joining the party... a month and a half late.

And I have plenty of respect for The Departed. It was a great movie, and I always like flicks set in Boston.

That movie is fantastic.  A cherished piece of my DVD library.  The scene when they're going over the Zakim Bridge and "I'm Shipping up to Boston" is playing.  Iconic.  Feels like home.

Oh and Nicholson's Boston accent is hilarious.  Sounds like my Grammy from Jamaica Plain, rest her soul.

Dale Jr. is the Cal Naughton to Jimmie Johnson's Ricky Bobby.  He will never win a Cup Championship with Hendrick, and he'll never win a title with that knucklehead crew chief of his.  He will be in the rear with the gear while Johnson and Gordon duke it out for the Cup.  As much as I hate Gordon and Johnson, it's true.

Instead of signing with the New York Yankees of NASCAR to be the 3rd wheel, he should've gone to Childress, dusted off the old black #3 Chevy because that's what the crazier of the Jr. fans want anyway, go find a crew chief that isn't "kin" and run roughshod over everyone.

I don't even like NASCAR, but seeing Dale Jr in the #3 car would be a slap in the face to all that is holy and sacred in auto racing.

I love people who PQ me just because they disagree and don't have the stones to reply.

I don't know.  I think Dale Jr. would be the only acceptable person to drive the #3 if it were ever to return.  Many Dale Sr. and Jr. fans clamored for that exact thing before his alliance with Hendrick.

Nobody's wailing on the mediocre drivers that have been in Richard Petty's #43 (John Andretti,Wally Dallenbach,Christian Fittipaldi, Jeff Green and a past-his-prime Bobby Labonte)  since he retired in 1992.  I realize he's still alive, but he's no less of an icon.

I actually think it's funny that so many people are fans of both of them, despite the fact that they are pretty much the opposite. Dale Sr. was a badass... Jr's a bitch. Sr was a winner, Jr is nothing but a series of excuses. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you all.

Wow..Something we finally agree on!!
Junyah does not belong in the 3...................too big are those shoes to fill, and as bad as I hate to say it, Junyah will never be anywhere near ready to fill them.

I personally dont believe that the 3 should ever be driven again!

Your point is 100% spot on.  I said before the reason why he's NASCAR's most popular driver is because fans of his father are trying to hang on vicariously through him.

Not me! I've been a fan since he started in the "nationwide" series.  I call the fans you are talking about "Band wagon Fans". True, his father was a great driver and left too soon but JR IS NOT his father and never will be nor does he want to be!!!

Because NASCAR isn't a beauty pageant. The best DRIVER should be the highest paid, not the prettiest.
