Like his teammates, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, it seems Dale Earnhardt Jr. is quite happy at Hendrick Motorsports and isn't planning on going anywhere else soon.

NASCAR's famous son has just inked a deal which will keep him at HMS through 2017, hot on the heels of the announcement that JR Motorsports had signed Danica Patrick to a full season in the number 7 Go-Daddy.com Chevy in the Nationwide Series.  The agreement was signed a full year in advance of the expiration of Jr's existing contract, which was set through to the end of 2012.

Dale Jr. currently sits 9th in points and is poised to be in the Chase for the Cup, yet the victory he so desperately wants, for himself and his fans, has so far eluded him.  He has come close, but he and his crew just haven't been able to seal the deal.  Steve Letarte, Jr's crew chief since the beginning of the season, is a good mix for Jr. and the pair have a great working relationship.  Once Jr actually gets that elusive win, many feel they will win again and again.
