The SIRIUS airwaves were all a-buzz today with the story that Danica Patrick had visited Stewart-Haas Racing on Monday, although the big boss himself, Tony Stewart, wasn't in attendance, but conducting another tire test.

Instead, Danica met with Ryan Newman, Crew Chief Tony Gibson and other staff members and toured the facility.

According to many NASCAR reporters, she really is shopping for a NASCAR ride, although Dave Moody was quick to point out that Tony had simply invited her to participate at Eldora Raceway, and she took advantage of the close proximity to tour the shop.

Realistically, Danica could climb into a NASCAR ride after the end of the IRL season, but before the end of the NASCAR 2009 Season.

I just don't know who to believe any more.

There are lots examples of people trying Nascar and not succeeding. Interesting how Montoya has done this year but it sure took awhile for him to learn the ropes too and here was a guy that was at the top of the open wheel racing world.

Oddly enough, I think you are right, unless of course she puts a bunch of people in the wall, repeatedly, and then I am thinking, it might not be so swell for her.

Her Bush like attitude that she has in the IRL may also do her a great disservice, but I am all for equal rights, let her try! I will sit back and giggle

As I've said before, and as someone's who watched every race this season, Danica hasn't exhibited any of her past bad behavior this year. Of course, I'm "just an IRL fan," so why should anyone listen to me? *rolls eyes*

I agree with your Eric.  I haven't watched EVERY race, but I've seen enough of it to say she has adjusted her attitude considerably.  And her attitude isn't nearly as important as her ability to drive, in my opinion.  The girl CAN drive!!  IF she decides to join NASCAR, I truly wish her all the success in the world.  It's just like Dale Jr expressing an interest to drive an indy car, what the hell is wrong with that?

These people are grown ups.  It is THEIR lives and we are all just voyeurs. They will decide what is best for them and it's arrogant of any of us to assume OUR opinion counts for squat.

That being said, it is fun to speculate.

You are a fan, that's what counts Eric, I do remember one incident with running over a crew member or something like that, but you are right, she shouldn't be judged on past behavior, much like another driver
that I know of that repeatedly gets trashed for the past

I'm just saying the past behavior is only part of the story, and unlike Busch, there has been marked improvement on that front from her. This is coming from someone who's never been a big fan of her for those behavioral reasons.

I really do agree with that Eric...and my arrow was pointing to my Junyah avatar..LOL
I am sure she can drive, in IRL. I just really really feel strongly that she needs some seat time in a lower series before hopping into Sprint Cup..Look how many have tried and failed. I am a huge fan of JPM, but it has taken him a long time, to even come close...
I think maybe that is why Tony has sent the invite to El Dora..I personally feel that if you can hold your own on the dirt, than you damn sure can hold your own elsewhere, but that's just me!

I guess I took it like that because it came right after my VERY opinionated comment! Why would you stop posting them girl?? People are always going to have an opinion.
That is part of these folks being in the spotlight, fans live vicariously through them, and you know all us fans think we are right. I think you write some of the best stuff on this site, espescially the Nascar stuff..one of the reasons I have hung around so long!

I think Danica should stay in IRL for now. I'd like to see her win a couple more races there. But if she decided to run in NASCAR, I'm sure she could compete.

       she is hot, but in indy they dont bump eachother like nascar does, or they fly in the air 6 feet flipping. that would be a big adjustment, i think.   but she probably would make a ton just off the merch.  you know every woman would have her name all over themselves every race.  and not so much that way in indy.

    I think that NASCAR will be quite different than Indy, for a couple reasons.  You dont really do much bumping and rubbing in Indy , because if you do you will probably end up 6 foot in the air. I think that will be hard to get over.  But if you look at the money aspect, the possabilities are huge.  Just think about how many women will be wearing Kilpatrick shirts and pink racing jackets. She could be a star and never win a race. Yes just like Jr.

 Do you know how much money she would bring to NASCAR, There's gotta be 2-3 Million women out there just waiting for a chance that Danika or any other Female Driver gets in the Door to the Largest Fan based Sport on the Planet. HELL YA Giver her a shot, She'll make more in Nascar than IRL and that's a Fact.  She just better Drive for Chevy or Ford Screw the rest, & BMW Doesn't even need to look at this sport we already have JAP CRAP in the sport. And yes she is F***ing HOT!!!!!!

ummmm did you read any of the comments from the women on this site before yours??? NONE of us is waiting for her to join NASCAR.  She needs to stay in IRL, and work on excelling in that series.  IF she moves to NASCAR, she starts in a feeder series and learns how to drive the cars.  Then, after a couple of years practice, she would be welcomed by NASCAR fans, male and female, into the top tier series.  NASCAR fans as a whle don't want an unproven driver in the top series with those drivers who have proven they can drive.
