There are half a dozen other women in the field for Saturday's ARCA series race, but none is more highlighted by the media than Danica Patrick.

Although the rain may have been the top story at Daytona today, the rain held off long enough for the ARCA drivers to get their qualifying in, and Danica will start in the 12th position, alongside veteran Frank Kimmel.   She spoke to the media after qualifying and said she was pleased to be starting alongside such an experienced driver.  No word yet on how pleased Frank is about it.

Danica also told the press she has yet to meet many of her fellow drivers, saying if the opportunity arises to speak with them she will, however, right now her focus is on the coming race.

She told the reporters present that she's pretty sure she is going to learning a lot in the ARCA race, given that her practice sessions have been in packs of 5 or 6 cars, not the freight trains of 20-30 cars we are sure to see in the race.  She also said the presence of the fenders on the cars is somewhat comforting, knowing if she needs to let someone know they've pissed her off, she won't take both of them right out of the race, if she  makes contact.

The ARCA race will be aired Saturday on SPEED TV and is likely to be one of the most watched ARCA races in the history of the ARCA series.
