TSN just announced this on TV, and the only published story so far also seems to be on their site.

Tucker remains in hospital being evaluated after a hard hit by Ruutu in the Avalanche game against the Hurricanes.

He remained unconscious on the ice for around five minutes and was removed by stretcher in a neck brace. No update on his condition has yet been released.

2	Debi, its not the Blue Jackets the Avs are playing against hon, they're playing against the Carolina Hurricanes. That being said, what Ruutu did is totally stupid. Boarding penalties are dangerous and dumb. Hope Tucker is OK and hope that all his limbs are moving.

I'll agree with saying what Ruutu did was dangerous as that is the definition of a boarding penalty, but the irony here is that is something Tucker would've done in years past.

I know exactly what you mean. I remember watching Hockey Night in Canada one night and Tucker completely smashed a guy into another consciousness. I think it was a Maple Leaf game against the Flyers in the playoffs about five or so years ago. It was towards the end of the game, and the hit was so hard that the Flyers player didn't know where he was. He struggled to get to the bench and could barely skate. Watching the poor guy try to get back to the bench almost broke my heart.
Moral of the story, Tucker lives by those kinds of plays. What goes around comes around (still, he was doing really well for us so far, so I hate to see it happen right now)

1	I saw the replay and I'm not sure what the penalty was for. Because Tucker couldn't brace himself? Looked like a hockey check to me.
