It’s good to be home. After a five-game road trip that saw Detroit pick up six out of a possible 10 points, it looked like the Red Wings were happy to be back in Joe Louis Arena...
Chris Osgood was very good on Tuesday night, looking like the Ozzie of the playoffs.
Of all the abuse Osgood has faced recently, he still has a save % of 906, and a 2.74 GAA.
Osgood's 2-0 shotuout of the Boston Bruins was Ozzie's 50th carrer shutout, and his 39th as a Red Wing. Only the legendary Terry Sawchuk, who had 85 SO's, has more as a Red Wing.
If the Red Wings offense had been alive in either game 6, or 7 in last years Cup Final, then Chris Osgood would have been praised by all fans, and the media.
Osgood is, as most goalies, only as good as the players he has to help him.
Wings fans should realize how lucky we are to have Osgood as our stopper, and know that he will win plenty of games for the Wings this year.
Go Wings.!
