Eat Like A Champion (and Maybe Meet One
Pittsburgh Is Introducing Its Own Version of Flutie Flakes
We all remember Flutie Flakes, right?  Athletes have graced Wheaties boxes for years, but there have also been foods specifically named after a certain sports figure.  Pittsburgh has had many foods featuring their own pro athletes over the years as well.  There was Terry Bradshaw peanut butter, Louie Lipps' Lippsmacker cookies, the Mario Bun, the Bubby Bar, and of course, Big Ben Beef Jerky.  Now, 2 of Pittsburgh's biggest celebrities will be gracing the box of a new cereal.  City of Champions cereal will go on sale later this month.  One side will feature the Steelers' all-time leading WR Hines Ward, and the other side features the hero of Game 7 of last year's Stanley Cup Finals, fan favorite Max Talbot.  These 2 guys are 2 of the most likable athletes in Pittsburgh, and it's just one more product on the grocery store shelf to add to the long list of Wheaties wannabe cereals.

Haha - Steelers haters - that's funny. Doesn't make Big Ben or the Steelers any less than the best team in the NFL this decade.

I know you don't want any more rebuttals, but you know me better than that, you're getting one anyway.  At least Ben was on his way to practice when he wrecked, Kellen Winslow was TRYING to crash doing wheelies in a parking lot.

Did they make this cereal from the left over steel flakes swept up from the factory floor at the end of the day? If so, then they'll taste just like Flutie Flakes.

nice to see you guys all found the cereal.  It's available online at http://plbsports.com

and yes...there was no way we were getting the Pirates involved. and, we wanted to do a charity tie-in, but neither player really has a charity (Hines has the korean kids that he sponsors, but he didn't want that tie in).

My thought was initially Ward & Talbot, because they had radio shows.  My co-workers wanted Malkin and Holmes for the MVP theme.  We looked into it...and we never even got to Holmes, because Malkin wanted way too much money to do the project.
