Tony Stewart had the dominant car and led the most laps, but a pit road equipment penalty put him back in the pack, and Carl Edwards took advantage.  Carl had been running closely behind Stewart all day, but he needed the break to take the win.  Even so, his margin of victory over a hard charging Stewart really wasn't that much.

Stewart was quiet in his post race interview, with little to say, except that they had simply given this one away.

Last week's winner, Jeff Gordon, cut a right front tire 3/4 of the way through the race and hit the wall.  Both Kyle and Kurt Busch had problems, with Kyle blowing an engine and finishing the race in the garage while big brother Kurt was able to recover from an early spin.

The pole sitter, Matt Kenseth had problems early on with a flat tire.  He never seemed to be able to recover and finished well out of the lead group.  His teammate, Greg Biffle, also had a strong car early on, but had numerous problems in the pit with fuel and ran out of gas on lap 146 and let his frustrations show in his conversations with crew chief, Greg Erwin.

Following Edwards and Stewart were Juan Pablo Montoya,Marcos Ambrose, Ryan Newman,  Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch and Brian Vickers.
