Eric Mangini says he'll have a say in choosing the Browns' next GM
Apparently the Browns have learned nothing, because Eric Mangini will supposedly have a say in who they hire as the new GM.

For the Browns' sake, I hope Eric Mangini is wrong with this quote, because if the Browns are letting him have input in the GM hiring process, then they deserve to lose every single game until they fire him.

"Yeah, Randy Lerner and I talk a lot, so I'm sure we'll be very engaged in that. We're just going through the process, so I'm not sure how that will all play out.  We have to really see what's there, see what's available."

What happened the last time Mangini picked his own GM? They had to fire him, because he was a useless puppet. So... let the same thing happen again, and I'll guarantee that they'll have the same problem again. Let's see if they've learned their lesson or if Mangini is just talking out of his ass.

I wouldn't let Eric Mangini choose where I went to lunch.  What a hyped-up fraud he is.

How about this guy for GM, who lead the Browns two 3 AFC Championship games in his career? Can you say BERNIE KOSAR?

As much as Clevelanders hate Pittsuburgh, I bet they wouldnt mind having Cowher here now. I think all these players need a little spit in their faces and someone to grab them by the facemask and scream at them when they screw up instead of a bigger signing bonus the following year. Change the payoff rules... you get x amount as a base pay, if you cant complete a pass, drop balls, or fumble your pay gets cut. When you cause a fumble, have a fumble recovery, sack the QB, make an interception or a touchdown, you get a bump in pay for that game. Dont draft players and make them ride pine for 2 years and expect them to still know how to play as well as the reason you grabbed them. Put a disclaimer in their contract that says if they do stupid s@#t that disables them from playing  for more than a week or so then they automatically lose their salary or bonuses. Show the players that you are the boss and its a business. Stop letting those with the "I'm so great" attitude run all over the HC, GM, and owners and maybe they will be thankful and actually do their job to earn their pay. Try scouting for people that acutally love to play the game instead of those that just want to earn the big money.

The Browns need to hire a GM and a coach with proven track records, not a bunch of Bill Belichick wannabes.  The coach and GM need to have the same ideas about what it takes to create a winning football team or it will never work.  Then, the owner need to stay out of personnel and coaching decisions because if he knew anything about running a football team, he would be hired as a coach or GM and would not be an owner.

Mr. Eric "Man-needs-a-genie" should just sit DOWN and shut up. And Lerner needs to get a clue, is he really that naive? talk to someone in Football that can think their way outta a wet paper bag!!!
Lerner come on man! seriously, letting Eric in on this? you know its a matter of a year before you fire this guy, probably at the end of the year if the Browns remain with only 1 win. Hire somebody to clean house. A football guru with sense.

If I was a Browns fan, I would pick a new team. Just not the Bengals.
