It's still not determined if he was fired or if he resigned, but if he was fired or even pushed out the door, they're bigger idiots than I thought down on the plains.

One bad season doesn't make a bad coach.  The only bad decision he made was hiring Tony Franklin as his OC.  He admitted to that mistake and was going to put the old offense back in next season.  Who do they think they will get to replace him?

If he resigned on his own accord, I can't really blame him.  They have treating him like crap for a few years now.  Don't get me wrong, he's a complete jerk and no one likes him.  But he's not a bad football coach at all.

Even though it would be a bit of a classless move just to fire Bielema because a different guy became suddenly available, I'd love the Badgers to go after Tuberville.  It won't happen, but oh well.  'Cuse would be smart to go after him.

That's typical Bamar.  Croom, Fulmer & Tubbs are gone because they lost games.  Period.  Saban was just 1/7 of the reason why Tubbs is gone.  You're happy Tubbs is gone like Auburn Fans were sad Shula was fired.

Who cares if they beat Georgia?  And since when is a 12-0 regular season pointless?

12/3/08

Bama was expected to win 7 games at the most, but turned in a 12-0 regular season, which guarantees them a spot in a BCS game this season.  If memory serves me correctly, those games pay out a lot of money, which means this season is far from pointless, regardless of what happens in the SEC championship game.

Pointless is working like dogs during the offseason and then winning a whopping 5 games, which means you sit home and watch all of the other bowl games.  And even the wonderful New Mexico bowl pays out more money than the BuffaloEs will see this season.

I think you got your definition of "pointless" a little mixed up, Luke.  But then again, you've had to wait for about 2 decades for another "pointless" season to really understand.

Hall of Famers who played at Alabama: Bart Starr, Joe Namath, John Hannah, Ozzie Newsome, Dwight Stephenson, Don Hutson

Notable or semi-notable Current/recent NFL players who played at Alabama: Brodie Croyle, Cornelius Griffin, Le'Ron McClain, DeMeco Ryans, Justin Smiley, Deshea Townsend

2008 Draft picks from Alabama:
Wallace Gilberry, DE, New York Giants
D.J. Hall, WR, New York Giants
Justin Britt, OG, Cincinnati Bengals
Simeon Castille, CB, Cincinnati Bengals
Matt Caddell, WR, St. Louis Rams
Keith Saunders, LB, Miami Dolphins

National Championships: 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992

Conference Championships: 1924, 1925, 1926, 1930, 1933, 1934, 1937, 1945, 1953, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1989, 1992, 1999

And now, they are 12-0 after the regular season.

They have struggled a bit as of late, but Alabama is in no way, shape or form a "small fry" program. The Saban Era will be very good to them.

You're wrong Pat.  Bama had 0 players drafted in the 2008 Draft.  They were all undrafted free agents.

I have to agree. While I cant stand Saban, the record they have is deserved. SOme of the best ball I watched this season, came out of Bama, and they deserve to be where they are. Cant hey measure up to the Gators? I may eat my words, but I think not. Regardless, "a small fry" program they oare not, nor have they ever been.

Of course you hate USC you're a Bama Fan.  I'd be careful about ragging USC's schedule.  What is Bama's best win?  Georgia?  Georgia is an overrated pile of crap?  LSU, Clemson?  Please.  Bama deserves to be #1 but I wouldn't knock USC's schedule.  The SEC was only the 2nd best conference this year.

If Bama was the new sexy why are they double digit underdogs to a team with one loss on a neutral field that they have already played on?  Conspiracy?  NCAA?  Fulmer?  Refs?  Injuries?  Albert Means?  Roy Kramer?  Which is it?

Because of betting tendencies.

What a dumb question.

What is it with fans of teams that can't muster more than 5 wins this season coming in here talking crap?  It humors me, but at the same time, it kind of rediculous.

Lol, If any fan base can sympathise it's you guys right Tpowell?  You mean to tell me for the past 6 years you just sat back quietly & offered no opinions?  Of course not.  So don't be a hypocrite.  Besides even if I were a fan of the Washington Huskies or the Detroit Lions I could talk as much shit as I wanted.

And Pat-I was being facetious.  Don't you have an anti-Brett Favre blog to write?

Yeah maybe youll be able to compare his & Aaron Rodgers playoff performances....Oh wait...Or maybe he'll change his mind about what color shirt he'll wear that day.  Grown men after all aren't allowed to change their minds.

Auburn sucked ass this season.  Did I imply otherwise? So let me get this straight, you're only allowed to have an opinion if your team is good?  And again I ask as Alabama was raking in 7-6 seasons were you making posts?

Ah, yes. The incredibly intelligent insinuation that Aaron Rodgers is the reason the Packers aren't in the playoffs. Well played, good sir. Thank you for allowing me to ignore the rest of your comments without concern that I'll miss anything worth reading.

Well let's see here.  What's the only piece missing from last year's 13-3 team....

Ignore me, I'm sure logic bothers you. Just admit it, the guy irks you because he changes his mind.  The funny thing is that I'm not even a big Brett Favre guy I just enjoy calling out the Pollyannas of the world.  Anti-Barry Bonds, Anti-Lakers, Anti-Duke, Anti-Yankees, Yawn.  I'm bored.

Wow... it's that simple, right? Favre is the only thing that has changed from last season? Awesome logic. Seriously. It's priceless.

How about the fact that the offensive line has been downright offensive, Ryan Grant has been pathetic, and their fluky season from last year was never going to happen again anyway, no matter who was at the helm? Even Packers fans will admit that last year was an aberration, and they didn't have the talent to maintain that.

You call me a "Pollyanna," but your view is a classic example of the simple-minded. It's so easy to just point at Favre and say that's why the Packers are struggling this year, but if you actually look at what has gone on, you can see that it's not even remotely true.

While I might have a few views that go along with the majority, I promise you I can back them all up with strong reasons and completely sound logic. You, on the other hand, throw an idea against the wall just to see if it sticks. From what you've said so far in this thread, you're not doing too well so far.

I guess it's just a freaky coincidence then that the awful Jets get much, much better & that the formindable Packers get much, much worse.  But then again what do I know...

Ok, ok.  I'll just wait for future posts by you & see what surprises me.  I was pleasantly surprised that you weren't a typical Lance Armstrong ass kisser.  I definitely took you as someone who wore 4 of those stupid armbands of his.  But I'll continue to wait...

Right... the Jets resurgence has nothing to do with the Patriots being much worse, and getting one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, along with Alan Faneca. Granted, having a somewhat competent QB helps a lot, but the bottom line is that Aaron Rodgers is still better than Brett Favre right now. Period.

Lol.  Seems like the Bils & Dolphins are much better as well.  So let me get this straight, the Pats being weaker is the reason the Jets crushed the Titans? Funny thing is if the Jets sucked you'd say it was Favre & if the Packers were good you'd get on your knees for Rodgers.  What's the Packers excuse?  They are still in a crap divison.

The NFC North is better than the NFC East?  Hmmmmm

The Jets-Titans game was an aberration, and everyone on the planet with half a brain is aware of that.

The Jets are not a better team than the Titans, and they're probably just as good as the Packers. Keep in mind that after beating the Titans, they lost to a very mediocre Broncos team.

You're right that was a low blow.  Sorry, I apologize.  It's still ridiculous to label the Jets ass whipping of a previous unbeaten team as an aberration.  Admit it, it's not the Jets it's your hatred for Favre. Though maybe as a Pats Fan it's both. This discussion is getting cyclical.  I work in sports talk radio so unfortunately I could on & on about it all day as we all did on the air this summer.

How is it ridiculous? 7 out of 10 times, the Titans would win that game. The pressure of being undefeated finally broke them, and it happened to be against the Jets. The Jets simply aren't a good football team, and they have proven that MORE times than they've proven otherwise this year. Giving up a huge lead to Matt Cassel and the Pats was one more example, even though they got away with a win. And it has nothing to do with me being a Patriots fan, because I will readily admit that they're not a good football team this year either.
