Considering: Javaris Crittenton, Rudy Fernandez, Marcus Williams, Nick Fazekus, Glenn "Big Baby" Davis
There is a new sheriff in town drafting for the Rockets and his name is Daryl Morey. Daryl was hired by Les Alexander to be the "Billy Beane" of the NBA. Yes, the Rockets are going to start playing Moneyball.
So, imagine my delight when John Hollinger released his new prospect rating system today on ESPN. If you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for? It's part of a free preview for ESPN Insider.
The Rockets are set at C (Yao), SG (TMAC), SF (Battier/Bonzi) but need help at PG and PF. Let's see who the best prospects are that are still on the board according to Hollinger:
| 7. | Nick Fazekas |
| 12. | Glen Davis |
| 17. | Javaris Crittenton |
Interestingly, it has been leaked that Morey likes both Fazekas and Davis so he and Hollinger must be using the same computer. That being said, we're in shock that Crittenton is still on the board. He would fit perfectly in Adelman's uptempo system. It might also mean I'll see less of Rafer Alston. I'll use Les' money and buy a second round pick for Big Baby or Fazekas.
The pick: Javaris Crittenton, PG/SG, Georgia Tech
Up next, the Detroit Pistons.
Who would you take for the Houston Rockets?
