Flames defeat Oilers 4-1

One day after the Flames were pounded into the ice by the Vancouver Canucks, they managed to return the favor on the Edmonton Oilers.

Rene Bourque grabbed the hat trick (making me cringe at the tongue lashing I'll receive from a friend who asked if he should add Bourque to his fantasy team), scoring a goal in each of the three periods.  Mike Giordano grabbed the other goal for the Flames, while Ryan Potulny got the loan goal for the Oilers.

The Oilers actually got on the board first, with Potulny's goal at the two minute mark of the first period.

The fight that broke out a second after that first goal must have recharged the Flames, however, and Bourque managed to put the goal in the net with just over a minute left in the first period.  Kiprusoff returned to the net for the Flames, and did the job expected of him, stopping 34 of the 35 shots on goal.

The third period was fight riddled with six fighting majors and a game misconduct charged to Ryan Stone of the Oilers.
