This concept is sick. Can't we let kids grow up and stop treating them like young adults? It's nauseating to see coaches and parents treat Little Johnny like a king if he can run like the wind, block like granite, or throw 40 yards across his body. Why give a verbal agreement now? How does this kid know what his life will be in 3 months, let alone 3 years?

You wonder how much of this is the kid and how much is the parent - trying to re-live their childhood or be what they never were, or looking for that 4 year scholorship.  Hell, at 15 I still wanted to be a fireman!

Signing a sophomore to a basketball scholarship is one thing, but even extending a schollie in football seems silly. I think we can be sure this doesn't end well.
