A brawl broke out between two Colorado youth football coaches on Monday night when one team refused to take the field because the other had a girl in its starting lineup. The coaches of the Eaton, Colorado team of 10- and 11-year-olds had expressed concerns over their boys hitting and tackling a girl due to “moral” and “religious” reasons.

What's really ridiculous is it was a scrimmage (according to the article).  I'm from Colorado, attended U of Northern Colorado in Greeley, and it sounds like that coach was just a thug (getting in a fight because another team doesn't want to scrimmage yours because a girl is on the team?).  The burning question is, why would they have agreed to scrimmage in the first place?

And as the U of Colorado #1 fan on the Q, I take no offense on the Katie Hnida comment!

everyone knows that girls have no business playing tackle football. a brawl may be a little over the top....

i respect the coaches who stood up the other team and didn't play. they stood firm for what they believe in. good for them.

What a crock its little kid football they don't hit hard yet Girls have played High School football before and did well not excellent but she was a decient Kicker from what I remember too it was a big news story,  Hell if they want to take what comes with the game then so be it however College an Pro sports I would say is a lot diff so far as gender goes and depending on the position HS  football too.  Your prolly like that because the lil 11 year old girl has more cahoonies than you:P
