Discarded by the NFL after a very successful collegiate career, former Texas Tech Red Raiders' QB Graham Harrell has decided to go up north to Canada. Harrell tried out for the Cleveland Browns after going undrafted in the most recent NFL draft, and received virtually no interest thereafter. Now Harrell has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, who now have four QB's on the roster. But in today's economy, sometimes it is better to have any job, than none at all. Or maybe it is just better to not be playing for the Browns...
TMI man, but good to hear Harrell has plenty of support. I hope the guy does well, because he got completely dissed by the NFL after college. No doubt he will have a chip on his shoulder, and I hope he can grow and succeed in the CFL.
Wow, didn't realise we Canucks were looked down on so openly by you, Dave.
You know I love all you Canucks (with the exception of Keanu Reeves), and I don't see where the Canada-bashing is, but I apologize if it was perceived as such .

I hope he is successful up there and decides to come back and play in the NFL. I was looking forward to watching him play. I can't believe no one picked him up (Denver, Tampa, Carolina, Philly, Jacksonville, St. Louis, even Indy Peyton isn't going to live forever.)
When has a Texas Tech QB ever been given the chance to succeed in the NFL? Maybe we need more spread offense in the NFL. We already have the Wildcat/bird/hog/donkey/beluga/525,600.
Harrell's arm is not all that strong, just a bit better than Chad Pennington's, but he has a good release and a very sharp mind. I'll take smart and accurate over the Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler and Dan McGwire types with howitzer arms and pop gun football IQs.
