Frankie Muniz has a new job, worse haircut PhotoSometimes, a "Where are they now?" story comes along that's too humorous not to share. This is one of those times. Actor Frankie Muniz is now a professional race car driver. Seriously.

He's currently racing in the Champ Car Atlantic series, which is a minor league series few care about for the Champ Car series, which few people care about. The picture comes from his page on the Atlantic website. I don't know what's up with the mini-mohawk either.

Looking at his results this year though, he's no longer Malcolm in the Middle, he's Malcolm in the Back. His best finish is 19th and Muniz sits 28th in points. Out of 31. Here's how he spins it:

"This is a very high level and there are plenty of lower levels I would be at if I wasn't capable of being here. I am about a second off the fastest car, which isn't bad. Where I'm at driving-wise is if someone who has never touched a basketball got thrown into the NBA. He would suck. He wouldn't know what he was doing. So I was kind of thrown into the NBA with racing, but I'm doing well, so I like that."

You keep telling yourself that, Frankie. Last time I checked, being a second off is pretty bad. He could still improve, but right now it looks like he found something he sucks at more than acting.

(Cleveland Plain Dealer) Idling Actor

You know my favorite NBA team has been historically bad when one of their most ardent and visible supporter is this guy.
