Gambler alleges that 13 NBA referees were involved in Donaghy betting scandal
And yes, it's rigged.
Or so says Jimmy "The Sheep" Battista, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transmit wagering information in connection with disgraced NBA official Tim Donaghy and served 15 months in federal prison.
Battista says he worked with 13 NBA refs - Donaghy being the key man - to rig games. Donaghy, by the way, had a 78% win rate for gamblers. That'll certainly win you a few bucks.
Anyway, some people may say this is BS, but seriously, let's go back and recall that Donaghy made a lot of suspicious calls to ref Scott Foster. Phone calls that were short and always before games, which is often the sign of people exchanging necessary betting info. And guess what? Nothing ever happened to Foster. He's still reffing.
Anyway, I sure as hell hope this blows everything up in Stern's face. Stern called Donaghy a "rogue" after the original scandal broke, but pretty much everyone knows that more people were involved. I mean, hell, I've been convinced the NBA is rigged since the Kings lost to the Lakers in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. And no one can tell me otherwise.
