Gino Castignoli Explains Why He Buried Red Sox Jersey Under New Yankee Stadium
by CriticalFanatic | 4/13/086 Comment Comments »

You've heard plenty this week about the Red Sox fan construction worker who buried a David Ortiz jersey under new Yankee Stadium and the Yankees promptly drilling/digging up the jersey once the New York Post broke the story and its whereabouts.

Now you can hear from the hero/idiot. Gino Gastignoli joined Sportscenter tonight to explain why he did and why he let the cat out of the bag. It wasn't for money he assures us. Ha.

Many things make the Yanks-Sox rivalry one of the best in sports, but you can't ignore the stupidity of both fans as perhaps the biggest factor.

Gino, next time you pouring some concrete, please feel free to jump in and stay. You will not be missed, and no it is not because you are a Red Sox fan, but because you are a jackass of the highest order.

I thought it was hilarious.  Give this guy a break.

The guy was an idiot but it also gave us two MORE reasons to hate the Yankees:

1. They initially denied it.

2. Team president Randy Levine: "We decided, 'Why reward somebody who had really bad motives and was trying to do a really bad thing?"'
