Glen Davis played great in Kevin Garnett's absence, and is likely to get quite a nice payday because of that. Will he fizzle out like Austin Croshere, Calvin Booth and Jerome James? Or will he prove that it's worth it?
Jerome James is the biggest crook in the NBA! He had a good playoff series a few years ago with Seattle and the Knicks gave he a 5yr 29 million dollar deal..... He sits the bench for the knicks now.
Ooh... Austin Croshere. I don't think he'll steal like that guy, but he's not ready to be more than a complementary player. He's been surrounded by great players in Boston.
I hope he comes back to Boston. He is well liked by the fans, will be well payed, and fits in well with the team. Plus, Powe is also a free agent, and if both of them leave (I hope neither of them do), then we're gonna be seeing some Scalabrine for when Garnett needs a rest. And I think that Scal is just a red-headed, taking up room on the bench player. So, we'd better get Davis and Powe back. They are definitely both worth it.
Davis is not soft, he has always given good effort and since he got off the Oliver Miller/John Williams eat your way out of the league workout plan he has shown he can defend big 4s, even smaller Centers, he can rebound, post up and is developing a mid-range to perimeter game. But let's remember who and what he is. A 7th man off the bench on a good team who is less long, versatile and athletic than top tier power forwards like Odom, less polished than Duncan, but I bet he could defend the heck out of Blair. What are guys like Koncak, Croshere and Jerome James supposed to do? Say “please don't give me all that guaranteed money we both know I am not that good, I'd prefer to sign for about a third of that." Should Kwame Brown have refused to be drafted so early? It's not the players’ fault that some teams overvalue inferior talent. Should all the can't miss prospects who did be blamed or the teams that scouted them?
