Guess what? An average NASCAR race is still getting better ratings than the Indy 500.

I'm not a diehard NASCAR fan, but I can say from what I have seen that FOX's coverage of any of the NASCAR races is a hell of a lot better than the ABC coverage of the Indy 500.  Better HD, better commentators (DW and the guys are hilarious), better interviews.

And let's face it, the drivers have better personalities, or at least personalities more likely to click with the typical American viewer.  Douche bags like Dan Wheldon with his popped collar are bound to come off as snooty and drive away most non-Europeans.

ABC's coverage is quite terrible, mostly because it's all Danica, all the time, and the other drivers don't get any time for their personalities to come out. Most of them have good personalities, and aren't douchy.

BTW (this is to 100%), the 600 is the second or third biggest race on the NASCAR schedule, and they have the advantage of primetime. It's not "an average" race unless you believe NASCAR's predatory propaganda.

Funny I said what I said about ABC's coverage, because their coverage of today's race was surprisingly good. Danica wasn't shown nearly as much (granted, she wasn't all that competitive), most of the field got some time on screen, and they showed the battles going on downfield. If only all of their races were covered that way.

Guess what, an average NASCAR fan can't spell Indianapolis.

Their is still nothing too exciting at all even when they have a good race. When you compare ABC's coverage of Nascar and ABC's coverage of Indy you can notice its not all ABC's fault that they don't succeed well with Indy. Because their coverage of Nascar isn't nearly as bad. So, its pretty obvious that the Indy series is just hurting bad and their lucky they have someone like Danica Patrick for any media coverage. Before Danica I forgot Indy existed sometimes now that she is in Indy I might actually pay attention to who wins here or there. The Brickyard 400 that Nascar does at Indianapolis has out done the Indianapolis 500 a few times so its clearly obvious that Nascar>Indy.
