Gus Frerotte believes he should have started against the Eagles instead of Tarvaris Jackson. Anyone with a brain would agree.

Even though Gus Frerotte had a bad back, he believes he could have played better than Tarvaris Jackson against the Eagles. But then again, a shot dog in a wheelchair could have played better than Jackson in that game.

Gus you are as ridiculous as your name!  You are a back up at best in this league and you wouldn't have given the Vikes any better shot.  You were beaten by a better team.  Now not only are you a bad QB, you are a bad teammate.

I agree with Josh.  He may be right, but he can't say that... because he's Gus Frerotte.  He's set for life because no matter what city you're in, he'll hold a clipboard for you.  You don't want Gus to actually play... you just want to know that he could play in an emergency.

Eh, Jackson did a decent job of just avoiding getting sacked every play.  Ferotte couldn't have done that.  The playcaling did the Vikings in as much as their crappy QB situation did.

Jackson did a decent job. To be honest, I was expecting a Cowboys style romp on my team. They held their own for a good portion of the game. However, Gus couldn't have done any better. Yes he could have made up for Jackson's short comings, but Jackson makes up for his. The difference between the two? Jackson will come into his own, shake the jitters, learn that throwing the ball away is ok sometimes and be the better QB.

Again the author takes something and bashes it for non-laughs. Jackson played much better than Frerotte would have. I thought that Jackson played with poise and did you notice that the Eagles didn't blitz nearly as much as they do normally? Why? because they knew he could take off and make them pay with his legs. Jackson still has a long way to go but Frerotte wouldn't have beat the Eagles either.
