In the post Madden era, every announcer, no matter how good or bad, tries to have their own little characteristics or catch-phrases that will get them remembered. Most of them are incomparably stupid ("BOOM goes the dynamite!" comes to mind). But this week, Gus Johnson finds himself having to apologize to the Politically Correct Police for his pathetic attempt at being an original character after describing Jaguars' receiver Chris Johnson as having "getting away from the cops speed" during a touchdown call. Personally, I don't find it offensive, racist, or politically incorrect. I think he should just apologize for being lame...
Seeing as Gus got stuck calling the Jaguar/Titan game, I'm surprised anybody outside of Tennessee and Jacksonville was actually listening or watching the game
I think anyone that had a problem with him saying that is either slightly racist themselves or are just getting way to worked up over nothing. Nothing it what he said had anything to do with race. But ill agree with you, that was pretty lame.
