A little harsh don't you think.  She is a teenager, and probably under more pressure than any teen out there.

How many golfers have we seen DQ'd for not signing their scorecard.  Shouldnt that be #1 on your to do list as soon as your round is over?

Poor Michelle.  This speaks more to the draconian rules of golf than anything else.  So she failed to sign her card until after she left the scoring area.  Did she benefit in any way?  Does this somehow suggest an intent to cheat?  In this age of information technology why do golfers need to keep their own score?  Oh that's right, because it's part of golf's grand tradition.  Big deal.

To her great credit this teenager (not a group known for their emotional stability) simply called it a learning experience and said she'd move on.

I agree -- for all it potentially cost her -- she handled it very well.

"I don't know why or how it happened," Wie said. -How about this for a shot: You "turned" pro way too early, as well as a spoiled brat who has never had the responsibility to do anything other than just show up to golf school (however, you don't even need to know when to go because your family's driver comes and picks you up). So, do you think Wie's prodigy label has officially been removed or am I too late? Is it already a water cooler running joke?

While the rules may be draconian they are the same for everybody and she simply broke them. The fact is that she knew what the rules were, and simply didn't follow them. I don't feel sorry for her in the least.
