Hedo Turkoglu is signing with the Toronto Raptors after rejecting the Portland Trail Blzaers
Hedo Turkoglu is apparently joining the Raptors after rejecting the Blazers.
Ok, so as soon as Hedo Turkoglu rejected the Blazers, he decided to sign with the Raptors. Or he supposedly will.

Turkoglu had agreed on a five-year, $50 million deal with the Blazers, but changed his mind and could be headed for a five-year, $56 million deal with the Raptors. Toronto would have to renounce three free agents - Shawn Marion, Carlos Delfino and Anthony Parker - so maybe this happens, and maybe it doesn't.

But right now, Turkoglu appears to be headed to Toronto.

Toronto? Man this dude will just go to the highest bidder. Can't say I blame him, but is the extra 6 mil really going to offset the differences in taxes between the US and Canada?

Bosh, Turk, and Calderon are a solid trio. In the East, that might be enough for fourth or even third with Orlando losing their big-time player.

Yup he's just a merc... I don't blame'em but I do know it's better for PDX they didn't need to over pay for him.

More money and a happy wife... sounds like Hedo get's the best of both worlds in taking the deal with Toronto

I think it pretty much evens out in the end. So obviously his wife made the decision.

The Raptors can have Hedo...the Portland fans were making a big fuss about signing him anyway. Portland needs a better backup in the Point Guard position and they weren't happy that the Blazers were going after Hedo so hard. Maybe Pritchard will have better luck if he goes after someone they really need.

Uhhh I constantly hear here that they need a SF and a PG so how would they not be happy to have Hedo at SF when, still overpaid, he was a upgrade?  I mean seriously that has been being said since the end of the season during the playoffs and all over sports talk radio here.  Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuspect...anyways I hope they get Andre Miller I'm a fan of his game and I'd watch the Blazer games more if they did.  They really need a post game I don't know why anyone thinks Oden's post game gonna go up so much next season that it'll be okay.

"The team had interest in signing Trevor Ariza, but the former Lakers forward agreed in principle Thursday night with Houston. Andre Miller is a free agent point guard and Paul Millsap, Brandon Bass and Antonio McDyess are quality power forwards who are free agents."

Andre Miller, Millsap and McDyess would all fit in well here... I like Bass not a huge fan of his offense though.  Just need to get some damn post game.

Well, he will get more playing time in Toronto than Portland. I hope he didn't go for the money I mean he's got game but not a consistent one so he will be over paid until her reaches that level but under paid after.  Plus they just traded Kapono to Philly so they really needed another shooter to stay in competition.

What's wrong with playing in the 5th largest market in North America, in front of a packed house of rabid fans every night? That's more than can be said about half of the current NBA franchises, with their half filled arenas and non committal fans.

you know , it kind of lets you down when  top players  that  you have a lot of respect for take themselves out of title contention and off the radar by signing with teams that they know will not be contending for titles. im not mad at Turk for taking the money, but he coulda played for a contender and still got his cash!  this man not only makes bad decisions physically ON  the court (see Kings and Magic playoffs) he makes bad decions mentally OFF the court as well!!   i see why the Magic threw him away!!

Aldridge is pretty good in the post and Oden is better than most people think.  He's at least as good in the post as Dwight Howard (I know that isn't saying much, but it's true).  What Portland really needs is someone to run the offence and Turkoglu could do that.  Maybe Miller can..... he'd definately be an improvement over Steve Blake.

Turk just screwed his chances of being a NBA champion.

Yeah, I heard that too... and then Ric Bucher tried to explain why Toronto was a more "cosmopolitan" city than Portland.  Toronto is great, but don't put the hillbilly label on Portland.  Lame ESPN reporting again.
