A week ago we let you know that Rick Hendrick and Hendrick Motor Sports were loaning an airplane to the rescue efforts in Haiti, after the devastating earthquake left many homeless and without food or fresh water.

Today it was announced the second plane that was on stand-by has now been put to use.  IT seems the first plane was loaded and ready to leave today, with 26 of the children being written about on many other websites - children who have been orphaned and are being adopted by families in the United States.  The children are now on American soil and with their new families.

Not only that, but since the story has become public, people all over the country have contacted Hendrick Motor Sports wanting to become part of the effort.  The more public the effort becomes, the more people step up, the more people help and the more people are helped.

The efforts are scheduled to continue daily throughout the rest of January, and to work around team travel into February.
